Dear Henk van de Goor,
Nintendo does not support the trafficking or distribution of pornography
in our area on the internet. We shut down the WebChat feature when we
discovered that some individuals (outside of Nintendo) were sending
hypertext links to inappropriate areas/items through WebChat. We will
not re-open WebChat until we have found a way to prevent this from
happening in the future. If we cannot find a way to prevent this, we will
not re-open WebChat.
To address your question more directly, the "disturbing screen-shots" you
have did not come from our area. It was passed through our area by
someone using WebChat. WebChat allows users around the world to
chat with one another and send hypertext links to other computers.
When you first asked your question, we were unaware of these activities.
I checked WebChat, verified that it was working and replied to your
message. Two days later, a concerned parent gave us more specific
information regarding this activity. We monitored the service, found that
it was in fact true, and immediately shut down the service.
I hope I've been able to address your questions. Rest assured that
Nintendo neither supports this activity nor will we allow it to take place
within our area.
