An interesting comment heard here: "The telcos have gobs of money... and
fairly restricted prospects in their own field. The content-providers
(cable, nets, producers) have a very bright future... and no cash to
speak of." Hence, at least in part, the feeding frenzy. The end result,
of course, could be that what goes onto the info highway ends up being
controlled by the rich, but content-insensitive makers of plumbing and
hardware...
