Subject: RE: Telecos and Video Programming -Reply

Dear Anita;

Follow the press reports tomorrow regarding U.S. West's purchase of
Continental Cablevision and you will probably see a plethora of opinions
on telco entry into cable as well as video programming. I'm looking
forward to hearing what Time Warner has to say as well as the thinking
of Wall Street analysts.

        We're beginning to see the feeding frenzy as the sharks start
grabbing and squabbling. The AT&T thread traces one jurassic-shark's
current skirmishes. This is the shakeout phase as the robber-baron regime
takes shape. Anyone want to predict winners, losers, and the likely
structure of the new markets? What will be the new-world perspective
coming out of the merger of telecom and media-content mentalities?
